Front & Center offers a variety of "Broadway Style" camps each summer for ages 3.5 to 13. Camps have both half and full day options and each session is unique. Each camp includes elements of both technique and performance and will culminate in an informal performance within the studio. Our camps cater to the individual student, and material is selected each session to showcase the talents of the participating campers. In this way, we are able to cater to the needs of both novice and more experienced performers within the same camp. Looking for something new? Summer is a great time to get to know us! Camp registration opens in early February each year.

ABOUT OUR CAMPS: 

• Front & Center offers a variety of summer options for kids ages 3-13.  All of our programs are musical theatre based and will include technique classes and workshops in dance, acting, and voice as well as informal performances.*
• Many camps have both half day and full day options.  Our full day camps include special workshops in addition to our regular curriculum. Each camp session is unique and campers can choose to join us for one session, or the entire summer!
• Front & Center prides itself on its versatile and well-trained teachers.  A cross section of our yearly teachers will be leading our summer camps.  Please see below for more specific information about each individual camp.

AGE ELIGIBILITY FOR CAMPS IN 2013:

• Our Broadway Bound and Ballet Buddies Camps are specifically designed for pre-school children, ages 3-5, who have previously attended at least one year of pre-school and who are fully potty trained. 
• Our Triple Threat Camp is designed for elementary school children, ages 6-13, who havecompleted Kindergarten.  Triple Threat Camp will be broken down into smaller groups by age for specific classes during the day.

NEW THIS YEAR:

• Broadway Day-By Day, ages 6-13. Offers a Day Option at $75 or the full week for $325. 
  

PICK UP AND DROP OFF:

• Drop off begins 10 minutes before each camp start time.  Campers will NOT be supervised until that time.  Early drop offs or late pickups past 15 minutes will be charged a penalty fee of $10.00.  Unfortunately, we are unable to offer early drop or late pick options.

BALLET BUDDIES: Our youngest campers can be princes, princesses, and dancing animals as they explore the stories of the great ballets from Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty to Peter and the Wolf and Carnivale of the Animals! Each day there will be a craft and a scavenger hunt centered on the ballet of the day. Each session will culminate in an informal ballet presentation for parents and friends in the studio on Friday of each week at 11:15. The curriculum for this camp is based on the Leap ‘N Learn Syllabus.

Broadway Babes Camp 2013

• Monday-Friday: 9:00-11:30 
• $195.00 per week, plus $10.00 registration fee

BROADWAY BABES: Campers will explore the basics of Singing, Dancing and Acting – Broadway Style! There will also be a craft and a scavenger hunt centered around a new show each day! Each session will culminate in an informal showcase for parents and friends in the studio on Friday of each week at 11:15. All campers will receive a free t-shirt and commemorative photo of their group! Each session is unique, so come to as many as you like! Peanut-free snack and juice will be served each day. The curriculum for this camp is based on the Leap ‘N Learn for Musical Theatre Syllabus.

Triple Threat Two- Week Camp 2013

2-Two Week Sessions: Half Day or Full Day Option
Monday-Friday: 9:30-1:30 OR 9:30-4:30                                               

Pricing: Half Day- $465.00/ two-week session Full Day- $665.00/ two-week session 

Plus $25.00 registration fee, per child, per summer

This well-rounded program, incorporating classes in acting, voice and dance, allows the young performer the opportunity to improve upon what they do best, as well as trying new skills and having a blast! Each day of the session incorporates classes in all three genres, in which the students not only learn great technique, but also puts it into practice by working on material that will culminate in a performance at the end of each session.  There are snack and lunch breaks during the course of the day, so please be sure to bring-your-own food and drinks.  Each session has a unique theme, so whether you choose to do just one or all three, the experience will be invaluable. This is a great environment for your kids to make new friends with others who love to perform or for trying out something completely new!  No prior experience required.  Each session will be divided up into age appropriate groups. The intensive week will do all of this, in one whirlwhind week! An informal showcase will be planned for the end of the week.

The full day option will delve into each genre more specifically as well as introducing new topics through special workshops. Past workshops have included such things as Audition Techniques, Costuming and Prop Building, Improvisation, Shakespeare, Monologues, Theatre Dance Techniques, Original Broadway Choreography, Stage Makeup Techniques, Acting for the Camera, Yoga, Tumbling, and much more.

Broadway Day-By-Day Camp 2013 NEW!

2-One Week Sessions: Full Day Only Monday-Friday: 9:30-3:00             Special Pricing: ONLY $325/one-week session! Day Option - $75

“Broadway Day By Day”: New this year, Broadway Day by Day allows parents the freedom to choose which days they would like to enroll in camp. Created because of the public school year extension due to Hurricane Sandy, each day will offer a new chance to learn about a different Broadway show with new techniques, choreography, as well as theatre and dance history as it pertains to a show of the day. Each day will begin with a physical warm up, vocalizing, and acting games. A song will be performed at the end of each day to show off the day’s fun! Also, each day will be unique, with a new show, so sign up for one or all! Discounts applied to those who sign up for the full week. Campers will gain theater and performance knowledge in a fun, creative environment.
